Types of Dentures

1. Complete Dentures (Full Denture)

Two main kinds of full dentures:

• Inserted after teeth extraction and about 8–12 weeks of healing.

3. Fixed or Implant-Supported Dentures

Dentures secured onto dental implants, offering the most natural feel and never needing removal.

✅ No shifting or slipping when speaking or chewing.
✅ Closest to natural teeth in terms of function and comfort.
❗ Higher cost and requires time for implant placement and osseointegration.

Denture Fabrication Process

1. Oral health examination and preliminary impressions.
2. Tooth extraction (if necessary) and 8–12 weeks of gum healing.
3. Final impressions for the permanent denture.
4. Try-in appointment to adjust fit and bite.
5. Delivery of the final denture and follow-up checks.

Caring for Your Dentures

✅ Rinse dentures after every meal.
✅ Brush gently with a soft-bristled brush and denture cleanser.
✅ Soak overnight in water or a denture-soaking solution.
✅ Avoid hot water and bleach-based cleaners.
✅ Visit your dentist every six months, or sooner if you feel any discomfort.
